A boat trip from Cabo San Lucas Marina to the Arch is a short outing, but the sailing time is not the same as the full tour duration. Nearby Land’s End operators describe boat transfers measured in minutes, while a published Arch clear-boat sightseeing trip lasts 45 minutes for the complete experience.
Allow for the route, photo stops and return journey. Do not treat a quoted “10–45 minutes” as a reliable one-way travel time for every boat or as the maximum length of an Arch tour.
For the landmark’s location and visitor overview, see our guide to the Cabo San Lucas Arch.
Boat Travel Time Versus Total Tour Duration

There are three timings to distinguish:
- Travel to the Arch: the movement from your boarding point to the viewing area, including any stops on the way.
- Time at the Arch: the photo or viewing stop itself.
- Total outing: the entire booked excursion, including the return and any additional activities.
As a local example, Manta Scuba describes a 5–10-minute boat ride from the marina to Land’s End dive sites. That illustrates how close the area is, but it is not a promised transfer time to the Arch on every sightseeing route.
Examples of Published Excursion Durations
- Short sightseeing: Envatours advertises its Cabo Clearboat to the Arch experience as 45 minutes.
- Snorkeling plus sightseeing: Cabo Expeditions lists its Land’s End Snorkel Adventure as 1.5 hours, including a snorkeling session and views of the Arch.
- A longer snorkeling cruise: Cabo Sailing advertises a three-hour shared sailing and snorkeling outing that includes Land’s End sightseeing.
These are examples of different products, not a universal timetable. Reconfirm the current schedule and inclusions before booking. A longer tour does not mean the boat needs that entire time to reach El Arco.

The listed duration is the complete outing, not the one-way crossing. Confirm check-in and return timing.

What Can Change the Timing?
Your departure point, the type of boat, sightseeing stops and sea conditions all affect the outing. The captain may adjust the route or viewing stop, and beach landings may be unavailable.
A route that also includes snorkeling at another bay is different from a short Arch loop. Confirm the actual itinerary rather than assuming every advertised stop is included.
Plan Time Before and After Boarding
Add the journey from your accommodation, the required check-in time and the return transfer. Ask whether hotel pickup is included and when you will be back at the dock.
If arriving by cruise ship, allow time for tendering in both directions and keep the ship’s all-aboard deadline in mind. A 45-minute boat tour is not necessarily a 45-minute excursion from the ship.
Questions to Ask the Operator
- Is the advertised duration the whole tour or only the boat portion?
- Where does boarding take place, and how early must we arrive?
- Is there a beach drop-off, snorkeling stop or other activity?
- What time should we expect to return?
- What happens if the route changes or the departure is cancelled?
Compare ways to get to the Arch if you are deciding between a short boat trip, a cruise and a private charter.
If your timing plan depends on getting off the boat and continuing on foot, first check walking access at El Arco. A sightseeing ticket does not provide permission to walk beneath the rock.
