The most straightforward way to get to the Arch in Cabo San Lucas is by boat from Cabo San Lucas Marina or Médano Beach. Water taxis, glass-bottom or clear boats, shared cruises and private charters offer different versions of the visit.
El Arco is a water-based sightseeing stop at Land’s End. You do not drive to the rock or follow a normal walking route to it. For its location, formation and visitor overview, see our Cabo San Lucas Arch guide.

Choose Your Departure Point
Cabo San Lucas Marina
Many sightseeing boats and charters leave from the marina. Confirm the operator’s meeting point and dock rather than going to the marina entrance and expecting every boat to board in the same place.
If your hotel is in San José del Cabo or along the Tourist Corridor, check how you will reach Cabo San Lucas and whether transport is included. A hotel pickup and the boat’s departure are separate parts of the schedule.
Médano Beach
Water taxis and some outings can be arranged from Médano Beach. Ask exactly where you board and whether boarding involves the beach or a dock. Confirm return arrangements and the full fare before setting off.
Compare the Boat Options
Water Taxi or Short Sightseeing Boat
This can suit a visit focused on seeing El Arco and the nearby coastal landmarks. Clarify whether you are buying a sightseeing loop, transport to Lovers Beach or a combination. A beach drop-off is not automatic.
Glass-Bottom or Clear Boat
These outings combine coastal views with a view through part or all of the hull. Check the route and duration, and whether the experience stays aboard throughout. Visibility below the boat depends on the conditions. Compare clear boats and glass-bottom boats in Cabo if you are deciding between the two.
Shared Cruise or Private Charter
A shared cruise follows its advertised itinerary with other guests. A private charter reserves the vessel for your group, but the route remains subject to weather, access restrictions and the captain’s decisions.
Food, drinks, snorkeling and hotel transport are booking-specific inclusions. Compare the actual activity description rather than assuming that every Arch cruise offers the same services.

Allow Enough Time for the Visit
The crossing to the Arch, the time spent sightseeing and the entire excursion are different measures. Our guide to boat-ride and tour duration explains what to check when fitting the outing into your day.
Allow additional time for reaching the meeting point and checking in. Cruise-ship passengers should also account for tendering and the ship’s all-aboard time.
Can You Arrive by Kayak or Paddleboard?
Guided kayaking and paddleboarding are offered around Land’s End. They require a different level of participation from a seated sightseeing boat trip. Ask about experience requirements, the intended route, flotation and supervision before booking.
Do not assume a rental gives you unrestricted access around or beneath the Arch. Follow local restrictions and the guide’s route. Parasailing provides a view from above; it is not a way to land at the rock.
Walking and Swimming Are Different Questions
For the distinction between reaching the waterfront and reaching the landmark itself, read whether you can walk to El Arco. Exposed sand and informal scrambling routes should not be treated as normal visitor access.
Do not plan an independent swim to the Arch. A sightseeing visit and swimming at an approved nearby site are different activities.
Confirm These Details Before Paying
- The departure dock or beach boarding point and exact check-in time.
- Whether the fare covers the return journey and any beach pickup.
- Which landmarks and activities the itinerary includes.
- Any additional transport, dock or protected-area charges.
- How changes in sea conditions affect the trip and cancellation terms.
Keep the meeting instructions handy and tell the operator about mobility concerns or other participation needs in advance.
